Gem Testing

Why to even bother?

First of all, If you want to buy a gemstone, you’d prefer to buy a certified one, correct? And it makes much sense since they don’t really come for the price of candies.

Since there is no internationally accepted grading system to grade colored gemstones, there is also no appropriate answer on how to grade or analyze a gemstone.

Importance of Gem Testing

Precious gemstones like Diamond, Yellow Sapphire, Blue Sapphire, Coral, Opal, Ruby, Hessonite, Cats eye, Alexandrite etc. in their natural form (includes cutting & polish only) are priced at some lakhs to crores depending upon different qualities (or so to fool you).

The motive of IGTC is to facilitate the customer by providing the right information and the actual value of the Gemstone.

Nowadays, heated, treated, lab created synthetic or even glass filled gemstones are flooded in the market and a layman can easily be fooled by the thugs. There are various reports of some Chinese laboratories manufacturing fake gems using plastic, acrylics, PVC, fiber and glass which looks exactly as the real precious gems.

In India, most of the gemstones traders and sellers are jewelers who have no knowledge about the properties of different gemstones and the irony is that they occupy 95% of gems market in India.

Media reports and GJEPC stated that 90% Gemstones buyers usually waste their hard earned money on fake, heated, treated, glass filled due to lack of knowledge and absence of well equipped Gems testing laboratories nearby.

As per VEDIC ASTROLOGY, a heated or treated gemstones got changed molecular structure and becomes “KHANDHIT” omens which can brings you sufferings, money loss, quarrels, extent to life threatening etc. If you want to have a gemstones based on astrology then your gemstones must be a real and natural one.
